Through IEP, WSD aims at enhancing students' knowledge of water resources and raising their awareness of water conservation; encouraging them to put water conservation into practice in school and at home, as well as conveying the message to their peers, family members and further to the community.
The IEP comprises a teaching kit and a set of activities kit on the topic of water resources and water conservation, as well as a series of activity and competition to promote water conservation.
Most of the programme contents are related to water resources and are therefore parts of the environmental protection education, we suggest schools to select and adopt suitable materials from IEP in General Studies lessons, Life Education lessons, Personal Growth lessons, Class periods, morning assemblies or any other occasions.IEP comprises 26 activities. Schools participating in at least 3 activities in a single year will be accredited as “Water Conservation Campus” and awarded with the “Water Conservation Campus” banner.
Upon completion of the activity, school shall submit the relevant information through “Cherish water Campus” Teacher’s Portal for Primary School to WSD for record. A certain amount of “water drops” will be obtained after the proofs of the activity are verified by WSD. Schools will be ranked according to the number of “water drops” that they have accumulated within a school year, with respect to the districts they belong to.
Sponsoring Bodies, Principals, teachers, and students actively participating in the IEP will have a chance to win the “Excellent School Sponsoring Body Award”, “Winning School Sponsoring Body Award”, “Outstanding Leadership Award”, “Outstanding Project Planning Award”, “Outstanding Mentor Award”, “Water Conservation Star Award” or “Water Conservation Pioneer Award”, etc.Teacher’s Portal is a one-stop online platform to facilitate schools in implementing IEP and tallying the collected “Water Drops”.
