Objectives

Tap into student’s creativity to elaborate the impact of climate change on water resource, imagine what will happen if a day without water and disseminate the message of the value of water resource and cherishing water.

Competition Details

Eligibility

  • Primary 4 - 6 students in Hong Kong
  • Students may participate in the Contest as individual entrants or as a team with no more than four members
  • Each participant (the term "participant" in this document refers to either an individual participant or a participating team, as appropriate) may submit through the school one entry only. Each participating school may submit a maximum of two entries.

(h) Others The participant(s) shall provide a title and a brief description not exceeding 100 words for the entry

Enrollment and Submission of Entries

Participants are required to enroll via their schools. The participant's name/ name of Team should be used as the file name. School should submit the video entries and completed reply slip online or by post before the deadline.

      • Submit Online*
        TThe video entries shall be saved on an online platform for file transfer (which should be set as private video), and submitted through their schools. Teachers-in-charge should send the video entries and completed reply slip to the "Other" column of "My Schedule" in the Teacher’s Portal for Primary School of this website.
      • Submit by Post
        Schools may post DVD containing the softcopy of the video together with the completed rely slip in a sealed envelope to the following address (School name must be indicated):

Judging Criteria

Relevance to the theme (30%): The video can effectively arouse the public attention on the issue of water conservation
Creativity (30%): Creative concept, innovation, originality and innovative presentation
Production (20%): Composition, aesthetics, audio and visual effects
Online Voting (20%): Ten entries will be shortlisted by the judging panel for online public voting#

#The WSD will calculate the scores of the shortlisted entries in online voting. The voting details will be announced through this website and emails to the primary schools.

**"The Most Liked Award" will be given to the entry with the highest number of "vote" obtained from the public voting. If more than one entry has the same number of "vote", the Adjudication Panel shall make the final decision on the results. Voting results will be based on the records of the WSD's server system.

Result Announcement and Prize Redemption

Results will be announced in September 2022 on this website, awardees will be contacted by WSD individually.

Rules and Regulations

  • All entries must be the original works of the participants, and have never been published before or submitted to other competition.
  • Obscene or indecent content is prohibited in the works.
  • Once submitted, the entries shall not be modified and returned to the participants. Participants can keep backups before submitting their entries.
  • All participants are required to ensure that their works would not infringe any rights of intellectual property of any other persons.
  • The copyright in all submitted entries shall vest in the WSD absolutely, including using, modifying, copying, and publishing the submitted entries to any media for publicity or education purposes, without remuneration or other notice.
  • The announcement of finalists and results will be posted at the WSD’s Water Conservation website.
  • The WSD reserves the right to disqualify any participants who have violated the rules of the competition.
  • Participants are not allowed to upload any content, which violates the law of HKSAR, in the submitted entries.
  • All judging results by the judging panel are final.
  • The WSD reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations of the competition without prior notification. WSD’s decisions on the competition results are final and binding on the participants.
