Walk for Living Water 2018

Organised by the Amity Foundation and co-organised by Water Supplies Department, the 8th "Walk for Living Water" was successfully held on 5 May 2018 (Saturday) at SKH Ma On Shan Holy Spirit Primary School. Over 600 participants joined with their family and friends, WSD volunteer team also provided on-site support to the Walk.

"Walk for Living Water 2018" is one of the campaigns under “Climate Ready @HK” to showcase the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations and the theme of World Water Day. As in the past, the donors walked along Ma On Shan Promenade to experience the hardship of fetching water. It aimed at raising fund for water-deprived communities in poor villages on the Mainland to build drinking water facilities.

Director of Water Supplies officiated at the kick off ceremony and encourage public save water in his speech. Apart from the Walk, there was a carnival at the school campus for public. Water conservation game booths, “Water Conservation‧Past‧Present‧Future” exhibition and VR game were set up with a view to raising public awareness of global water crisis and conservation of water resources.
