Background

The level of water consumption in school depends on activities of over thousands of students. Therefore, controlling students’ water usage can effectively reduce water consumption in schools. Though WSD has promoted the water cherishing concept to students via different channels, we believe that by complementing behavioral changes of students with the installation of water saving devices, effectiveness of water saving can be more affirmative. To this end, one of the activities of the “Let’s Save 10L Water 2.0” campaign is to install water saving devices at private schools (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and tertiary institutions) to reduce water consumption in campus. Installation of flow controllers is an effective way to reduce water consumption from taps or showers and cultivate students’ water conservation habits. The installation scheme has launched to kindergartens in Hong Kong and will soon extend to primary schools, secondary schools and tertiary institutions. We welcome all schools to participate!
