"Green Run" was firstly held in 2016 to encourage the public to live an eco-friendly lifestyle as persistently as athletes practise sports, while encountering the challenge of achieving carbon neutrality before 2050. Replacing the usage of transportation with running can be a way to achieve low-carbon travelling in daily life.

To reduce the risk brought by the pandemic, "Green Run 2022" will remain virtual this year. Without designated location for the race, each runner is only required to accumulate at least 1 km in one go within the same day to finish the race. Application is now available.
