In order to encourage primary school students to practise water-saving lifestyle at an early age, WSD launched “Cherish Water Campus” Integrated Education Programme - Primary School (IEP) in the 2015/16 school year and refined the teaching kit in the 2019/20 school year. The refined teaching kit is more diversified, allow participating teachers and students to jointly implement water-saving tasks through a series of water audit activities, lesson plans, worksheets, teaching videos and games. It strengthens students’ understanding and awareness of water resources in Hong Kong and the world. In order to facilitate schools in implementing IEP, WSD has also launched the “Cherish Water Campus” Teacher’s Portal for Primary School in August 2020. In addition, IEP has a reward mechanism to recognise the efforts of schools, teachers and students who actively participate in water conservation activities, hoping that the culture of cherishing water can be sustained.
